About PianoForte
PianoForte Chicago was started with the idea of promoting and making available
the line of Fazioli pianos to the discerning public. Since its inception, PianoForte has evolved into a specialized piano shop, a piano boutique, with a focus on selecting fine instruments at various price levels. As part of the selection process, PianoForte has chosen to represent few piano manufacturers but those which reflected our philosophy. They are Fazioli, Grotrian, Schimmel and Wendl & Lung. Through these manufacturers, pianos are made available across all price points seen in the market today. At the same time, PianoForte selects pre-owned pianos to sell in order to widen the offering and touch/sound possibilities with pianos by Steinway, Mason & Hamlin, Bechstein, Baldwin, and other high quality brands. The showroom
is a unique setting to allow piano lovers to take their time and
explore the possibilities of one or several pianos. The showroom is not
a storefront and it is preferable to make an appointment, to ensure the best conditions to try pianos and discuss options with our staff.
The setting:
The Fine
Arts Building is located at 410 South Michigan Avenue, between
the Auditorium
Building and the Symphony Center,
near the theatre district and the museum campuses of the Art
Institute and Field Museum.
You can easily combine a visit to downtown Chicago with a visit
to PianoForte Chicago, be it for business meetings or your outing
to a concert or theatre performance.
The Fine Arts Building is classified as a historic landmark building
for its architecture as well as its beaux-arts style, which has
remained untouched by modernization. It has the last hand-operated
elevators in Chicago. Its owner has a vision of creating a haven
for artists and arts-related business in the building. It contains
a theatre, two cafes, several orchestra rehearsal spaces, the largest
sheet music store in Chicago, an art gallery, several fine musical
instrument dealers and restorers, many music teachers studios, artists
studios, performing arts organizations, a ballet school and much
more.

PianoForte Chicago's office is situated on the 8th floor. Its main showroom is in a
space which was used as a drama studio in the late 1890s and it
has kept many of the original features, such as a small stage. The
premiere of Ibsen's play the "Wild Duck" was performed there. PianoForte
Chicago maintains an inventory of usually 4 Fazioli grand pianos of various sizes, from the 6' model to the concert
grand piano.PianoForte has two additional showrooms on the 4th and 6th floors.

The PianoForte Chicago Fazioli concept:
By representing Fazioli pianos, PianoForte Chicago
is not like any other piano dealer: it is entirely focused on making
Fazioli pianos available to play and enjoy in a relaxed setting.
By focusing exclusively on this instrument of the highest quality,
we have put together a team of the best available technicians and
movers to ensure that our customers will enjoy the highest quality
of service. Our goal is to bring Fazioli pianos to the stage and
in piano lovers living rooms as well as to make them available for
the top pianists of today to play in concerts. Consider that of
approximately one hundred pianos manufactured in a year, only about
thirty make their way to the United States and much less to the
Midwest. Therefore we seek to increase the visibility of this rare
instrument.
